Name: Katherine Marie Pen
High school: Milwaukie Academy of the Arts
What are you involved in at school? I am a member of my school’s National Honor Society, an alto section leader in Choir, president of the Students for Life of Milwaukie High School club, and Chief Editor of the Yearbook.
What are your hobbies? How do you spend your time? In my free time you’ll probably find me singing and dancing around my house, or hanging out with my friends and family. Musical Theater is my passion and I love performing in choir and acting. I love working with kids, especially teaching them to sing and dance. I enjoy training as a Young Professional at Oregon Children’s Theater, photography and graphic design, traveling, drinking different kinds of tea, studying psychology, and playing around on the guitar and piano.
What is one thing your high school experience has taught you that you will carry with you forever? It is important to surround yourself with peers who will believe in you and support your decisions no matter what. People who will encourage you when you succeed but hold you accountable and help you learn from your mistakes. And it is equally important to to show God’s love to others by being a good friend to others even if they aren’t kind in return.
If you could go back to your freshman year, what would you do differently? If I could go back to my freshman year, I would try to be more involved in different things. I would try out for volleyball, run for student government, take more honors classes, and try out for the school musical, etc. All things I didn’t think I could handle then but I now know I could have.
What is your favorite place to shop? My favorite place to shop is Fuego at the mall because they have so many different and cute accessories there! I love scarves and jewelry so it’s really fun going in there.
What kind of music do you love to rock out to? I love all kinds of music but my favorites are definitely musical theater, rock/pop, and of course Christian/gospel music.
What are your plans after Graduation? After I graduate, I plan to go to college. Hopefully Corban University in Salem, and major in either Psychology (Youth & Family Studies), or Elementary Education. I know that God has great things in store for me and I’m still figuring out what he has planned, I can’t wait to see what is to come!
What is your dream job? My dream job is any job that involves working with children or performing. It would be awesome to be on Broadway someday. 🙂
How was your experience with Worlds Apart Studios? What did you enjoy most? I was nervous at first that there were going to be so many other people at the shoot getting their pictures done too, but it was actually SO much fun! Getting to know the other models and helping each other decide on our outfits was super exciting and I felt completely spoiled all day. Of course my sessions with Hannah and Kaela were amazing as well! I felt super comfortable having my pictures taken and it was just simply a great time. My favorite part was probably climbing up out of the barn window with Kaela.
Is there anything we could improve on to make your experience with us even better? Nope! I had such a blast and everything was very organized and fun. Can’t wait to do it again someday soon!
